May 23, 2017 Thomson Reuters has a special order form for TBR schools. The form addresses all contract restrictions. If TBR schools have the 2014 or older form, they will need to get an updated form as some of the language has changed. Snippet of email received: "West cannot continue to use the custom form from 2014 due to compliance and order processing requirements. West requires unique language to comply with statutory and regulatory requirements and third-party vendor requirements and our current approved contracts reflect the current requirements. Additionally, use of older forms would cause processing errors which can delay a customer’s subscription services. We can still address concerns, however, by using the current renewal form along with an addendum that incorporates the state-specific terms that were included in the 2014 order form. Attached is a proposed addendum which adds customer’s additional terms from last time. Some of the previous changes addressed language that no longer appears in our Order Forms for government customers." I am pasting a snippet of text from email correspondence from Molly Schuetzle regarding accessibility. Westlaw is substantially accessible for use with assistive technologies (JAWS, screen readers, etc). If they need a VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template), it can be requested from the accessibility team at westaccessibility@thomsonreuters.com . Training can be provided by Reference Attorneys – there are two dedicated to provide training to assistive technology users – Stephanie Rust-Small (Stephanie.rust-small@tr.com) and Jennifer Ibanez (Jennifer.Ibanez@tr.com) For general knowledge – our Accessibility Policy is available here: http://legalsolutions.thomsonreuters.com/law-products/about/legal-notice... and provides a nice overview of what we provide for support services for assistive technology users. -Molly Molly Schuetzle, Esq. 2018 VPAT posted on 2018apr03. Vendor states that VPAT characterizes overall accessibility of all Westlaw products. A specific VPAT for Westlaw Campus is in progress and will be shared in next few months. Vendor continues to decline to provide Conformance/Remediation form.
Updated conformance report (June 2019), Accessibility Statement and email uploaded by Robert Benson (2020mar6)
11/02/2020 - Uploaded new VPAT and Conformance & Remediation Form. Vendor declined to provide an updated remediation timeline upon request, stating: "Westlaw is an extremely large product containing a massive number of content documents, to which documents are added daily, and thus the content, issues, and issue resolution is a moving target. Therefore we do not have a timeline for resolution for the entire product, but are continuously working on issue resolution." Conformance date updated to 12/31/2021 so we can follow up on new changes after one year.
